How did you get started?
I spent several years decorating homes for Christmas as “The Christmas Fairy”, then a good friend of mine asked me to decorate her daughter’s wedding. I immediately told her NO and said… “I decorate homes, I have no idea how to decorate a wedding!” She persuaded me to do it anyway (obviously having more faith in me than I had) Lol! A few days after that wedding a friend of theirs contacted me and asked me to decorate her daughter’s wedding and ……. Well I loved every minute of it and decided to pursue a new venture and realized I found my true passion!
What do you want brides to know about you and J Cole Design?
Our services are unique to this area. It’s very unusual to find a designer/decorator that will create the design, provide all decor, set it all up then take it all down. We literally do it all for you!
What is one tip for the bride?
Be sure to research your wedding vendors before hiring them. Look at their work, ask lots of questions to make sure they are a good fit for YOU, and read reviews from other brides who can tell you about their experience.
What is your favorite wedding decor look?
My personal favorite wedding style is a classic, elegant look with minimal color. I love solid white flowers and greenery with crisp white linens and lots of candlesticks!
What trends are you excited to see this year?
If you are planning a wedding in the next couple of years you will want to keep up with the latest trends. My FAVORITE new trend is layering place settings! Think charger topped with dinner plate, salad plate, desert plate and cloth napkin. This is a simple way to glam up your guest tables and add a luxurious design. Also the reef style chargers in gold and silver are THE hottest going look right now.
What is your favorite part about your job?
The best part of my job is hearing my brides say “thank you for taking so much stress off of my wedding day”! That is my number one goal and I take it very seriously. We are here to make our bride’s wedding day absolutely beautiful while she relaxes with her bridal party. She should be sipping mimosas with her friends and enjoy having her hair and makeup done without having to worry about decor.
